Tick tock - time is running out to enter
The deadline is fast approaching for the Port of Tyne Reflect Awards - don't miss your chance to enter the North East's biggest photo and film competition and your chance to win £500.
Entries have been flying in to this year's competition and the closing date is midnight this Friday 30th September, so if you are keen with a camera there's still time to enter.
The judging panel includes Geoff Wonfor, film and TV director and producer; Wayne Hemingway, designer; and Carol Malia, presenter of BBC's Look North.
Susan Wear, Director of Corporate Affairs at the Port of Tyne, says: "This competition is a great way for people to express what they love about North East England. We want to see young people as well as adults entering and getting excited about demonstrating their talents to our top panel of judges."
Simon Nicholson, Port of Tyne IT Support Technician, 31 from South Shields has been getting his children interested in the competition, daughter Emma 5, and her brother Luke 3 have both entered the under 16's category.
"I heard about the Reflect competition at work, and Emma and Luke both wanted to enter their photos. We had lots of fun going down by the river and snapping pictures, Emma has taken some brilliant shots and it's a great way to get the children involved in something creative. I've even entered a few photos myself" says Simon.
